Signing Up for TinkerCAD

You can sign up for an Educator account with TinkerCAD either by creating an account with your email (either Department or Yarra Hills), or using Google Single Sign On with your Department email address.

To sign up from the homepage (tinkercad.com):

  1. Click the “Sign Up” button in the top left corner
  2. Click the “Educators start here” button
  3. Select “Continue or start making my educator account”
  4. Click the box to certify that you are an educator, and select “I agree”
  5. Either select “Sign up with email” or “Sign in with Google”
  6. Enter your country (Australia) and Date of Birth, or select your Department Google account, then enter your country and birthday
  7. Enter your email (Yarra Hills or Department), create a password, and tick the box agree to the Autodesk terms of service

This will then create your Teacher account, allowing you to create classes for students. You will receive a verification email from Autodesk, with a link to verify your email address.

If you create your account through Google, you may find that you need to take additional steps to ensure your account is set as a Teacher account. To do this, you need to:

  1. After creating your account, click on your profile icon in the top left, and select “Settings”
  2. Set your Role to “Teacher” from the drop-down menu

You will find that you need to return to your dashboard and refresh the page before the option to create classes appears – it may take a few moments.
